Supported Causes

July 29th, 2010

We continually expand and improve upon our support of growth in many areas in the pursuit of our goal of improving the quality of life for as many possible.

On New Years Day, January 1, 2010 the Laban Johnson Group, LLC launched a new initiative called UpliftAnother.com, a free community-driven networking service which connects individual members of the public to causes and needs they care about most, giving ordinary people the opportunity to do extraordinary things.

UpliftAnother.com’s mission is to help answer the call for funds and volunteers and provide material support for charitable organizations which are making the greatest difference, so charity workers can focus more of their time and energies on charity work.

UpliftAnother.com’s operations fall into four main categories:

* Networking: Engaging effectively in social networking to build and strengthen personal and professional relationships, forming strong alliances among generous people built around the common goal of doing more to help others.
* Campaigns: Organizing ‘viral’ fund-raising and awareness campaigns, aggregating, organizing and disbursing relevant news and information to engage individuals and businesses to take action and provide resources to respond to immediate needs in the local, national and international communities.
* Training, Leadership and Professional Development: Encouraging volunteerism and community leadership, while creating and exploring new opportunities for social entrepreneurs and others in our expanding network.
* Fund Management: Building and maintaining a charitable equity fund, into which revenues shall be donated to make increasingly larger grants to charities which we believe are making the greatest impact, as well as providing venture capital for new initiatives which we believe will make the greatest impact in the quality of lives of others.

In February 2009 we assembled a feature-rich community blog at http://www.upliftanother.com/blog which aggregates and archives charity related news feeds from many sources across the web to to help volunteers, donors and social entrepreneurs find new ways to take action, and we will continue to improve upon this service, finding new ways to bring relevant social action information to the individual volunteer.

We categorize causes, actions and information into the following twenty groups:

  • Affordable Housing
  • Alternative Medicine
  • Animal Abuse & Cruelty Prevention
  • Arts & Entertainment
  • Disaster Relief
  • Disease Prevention – Cancer, HIV research and awareness
  • Child Abuse Prevention, Adoption
